Hi everyone! Hope all is well with everyone.
I just wanted to post some back info and say hi, so here it goes.
I am 28, and a vet tech living in MI. I live with my boyfriend, dog and parrot. We dont have a lot of income at the moment because my boyfriend is working part time and going to school, and even though I love my job to death, vet techs (despite our education) are very poorly paid. Needless to say he buys the food and does most of the cooking, and mostly its ok, but we both have a sweet tooth and I admit I am a carb addict. Also food is always everywhere at work and home. And not good food either. Junk. And sorry to say, if its here--I eat it. (dont we all?!)
I currently weigh about 178 pounds. I was just over 200 pounds 7 years ago and lost just under 40 pounds. I was about 168 for several years, and while this wasnt my goal weight, I felt I looked pretty good. I managed to keep most of it off until the last few years too. However, it seemed once I was done with my schooling and working the million shifts it came with and 2 high stress jobs elsewhere from where I am now..my weight ...well... sort of crept back up.
I am here to (at the very least) lose the weight I gained back, and if I lose the 10# I couldnt lose back then it would be a bonus.
I hate my body at the moment and I cant weight (ha ha) to join you all and make some friends while we all battle the temptation!!

thiis is a great site. I joined after I graduated from vet school, and did well until I started my job at a clinic in NY - the techs at my practice (and some of the doctors too) love to order dominos, bring in donuts and have other unhealthy things around. I have no willpower, so I've kind of stalled since starting work.
Good luck.0 -

LMAO! I know! It's soo much harder to eat healthy foods because bad foods are everywhere. Sometimes it's like either I eat unhealthy things or I dont eat. That's awesome that you lost 40 lbs, WOW!, and also that you realized you were gaining it back b4 you gained it all back. Good 4 u!!
You seemed to have very realistic expectations and I think you'll have it off in no time. As for hating your body, try not to, I'm sure your beautiful no matter what you weigh. :-)
lol I'm totally a pot calling the kettle black, but I really do try to focus on being healthy as I think everyone should.
Everyone has body image issues but your taking a proactive approach and doing something about it! Bravo0
