10 calorie juice...?

i was grocery shopping and I discovered that oceanspray along with other companies came up with 10 cal juice, and 40 cal juice. it came in blueberry, pomegranate, cranberry..and others... it contained sucralose and other stuff. would this be healthy? would it even be juice? i love fruit and I always eat it but sometimes i need to just drink something refreshing like orange juice its delicious but its so high in sugar! lol :( should I get the low calorie one? (it came in 40 cal and 50 cal depending on company)>

whats your take on low calorie juice? =)

i drink them every once in a while. i think a 15 calories juice is a whole lot better than a 150 coke! i am sure some people will be scared with sucralose being a ingredient i dont care its within my calorie goal and better than a 100cal drink so if theres a 10cal juice ill take it!

I stay away from juice. All the healthy stuff is in the fruit parts :)

I'm sure you're going to get some pretty extreme views on this even though it's just low calorie juice haha. Personally, I don't think it's all that bad. The issue is when you think "OH HEY LOW CALORIE" and then you don't measure it out and end up drinking way more calories and sugar than you bargained for. I have a cup up the Minute Maid 15 Light Lemonade every morning in my smoothie. Does the trick for me.

IF you want juice, then this is a good way to get it. Yes eating fruit is better, but this sounds okay. Check to see how much is actual fruit juice - maybe that will help you make a decision.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of fruit juices that aren't actually made from real fruit. Here's some info on sucralose:

Pepsi created a highly profitable product when they invented Trop 50. They figured out how they could replace 1/2 of the juice with water, and a little bit of sweetener, and sell it for the same price. Brilliant, and make no mistake, they didn't do it for your health.

I would suggest taking your favourite juice - OJ, perhaps - and after pouring 1/2 a glass, top it with 1/2 a glass of club soda and perhaps a slice of real orange. Much better than the added "fake" sugar in many of the low-cal options.

Never drink calories. That's always been my rule...the only exceptions I have are 5 hour energy and the low-calorie monster.

I hate wasting my calories on beverages...unless it's an alcoholic beverage (in which case, I have saved room for).

Unless it is wine or coffee, I try not to drink my calories. :)

I have bought cranberry with fake sugar before. It is real fruit juice because cranberries are low cal and low carb, they are also very sour. I am diabetic and don't drink juice because it shoots up my BG right away. I only drink it when I have a low blood sugar episode. I have to say the no sugar cranberry is a rare and nice treat for me since regular juice is not an option. Just look and make sure that the juice is real juice, if its fake juice there really isn't much point in drinking it.

I've got nothing against fake sweeteners. I guzzle Coke Zero, so that's not my issue here.

This is just juice that is watered down! You are paying for them to dilute it! I'm too cheap for that.

If you want juice that has fewer calories, just pour a smaller amount, then dilute it yourself for free. That's my 2cents.

If you want it, buy it, drink it, and log it.

I don't drink bottled juice, but I've been considering juicing my own fruits.
