a bacon conundrum

Ok I have before me a pack of schneiders 40% less sodium bacon with very confusing nutritional info.

on the pack it states for 2 slices the calories are 190 raw but cooked and dabbed off on paper towel only 45 cals.

so now we get to the other goodies

fat for instance. the first fat figure is 18g but it doesnt really say whether that is raw or cooked.
it does say 25% of daily intake for raw and 5% when cooked, yet saturated and trans add up to mre than either of those figures
the same confusing figure are for sodium also.

how the hell are we supposed to gauge our food stuffs with info like this.

I don't know why they would put information for raw pork products on a package I do not know any person that would eat raw pork...YUCK!!!!!!
  • You can easily figure this out mathematically. Fat has 9 calories per gram. Protein has 4 calories per gram. 18 grams of fat is 162 calories in and of itself, so you know that can't be right if 2 cooked slices only has 45 calories.

I don't believe the 45 calorie number for a second, however, unless we're only talking 1 slice. Most bacon is around 80-120 calories per serving with around 9 grams of fat.
