Bleurgh! Think I had too long a weekend and now I can't run!

I've been doing Ease into 5k and was massively pleased to finish week five and do a whole 9 minutes on Thursday last week.
The way my work schedule has worked out this week I didn't have a chance to go back out and do my first day of week six until yesterday. I had to go out before work, and it was blazing hot.
I made it half way round, just about, and when the second set of running started I managed about two minutes out of nine and just couldn't handle any more, and went home in a sulk telling myself it was too hot and I'd go out this evening when I got home from
work.

Today was humid as all hell, but there was a bit of a breeze, so I marched off to the park feeling pretty determined and confident...then completely flopped two minutes in. My whole
Legs hurt, and I was sweating and out of breath almost immediately.

I'm so pissed off with myself now for caving, but also really worried I've just properly set myself up a mental barrier where I'm just not going to do it at all.

Was it the long weekend with too many days rest? Is my best bet to rewind a couple of days and build back up? I've made it through every day before, and worry that now I've let myself quit I'm going to do it over and over, especially as this week was supposed to be getting pretty serious (had I not given up yesterday, I'd have attempted my first 20 minutes today)

Help!

It's hot and you're psyching yourself out. You haven't lost any fitness in less than a week. You can do it if your mind lets you do it.
