According to a recent study. I am always skeptical about new research only supported by one study, but this is definitely interesting. Hope it's true! As if I needed another reason to eat almonds... haha.

That would be fantastic if true!

    That would be awesome!

I'm now wondering if that's why Silk's almond milk went down from 35 to 30 calories this week (or ingredients change, I haven't looked it up or anything yet)

Calories = Healthy? Not necessarily. Low fat = healthy? Not necessarily either. I hate when people equate the two together. People should be eating almonds anyway, not because they're suddenly "lower in calories and so healthier!" That's like saying Non-fat and low-fat foods are healthier. Often they are not. Almonds are a good source of monounsaturated fat, which is the type to eat, so flushing some of that fat out with the fibers isn't necessarily a good thing nutrition-wise. I have mixed feelings about this...especially as someone who doesn't mind the extra calories that come with getting all that good fat!

I never said that. I'm just happy I get to eat more almonds for the same amount of calories if this is true.

Btw, monounsaturated fats are not necessarily the best. All fats but trans are good fats :)

Thank you however for clarifying that for people who might equate lower calorie/lower fat with healthier. That seems to be a common theme on these boards.

Well, as someone that's on a site specifically built for calorie counting, I think it's awesome and interesting news, regardless of anyone's opinion.
