Hi Everyone,
I leave tomorrow for the beach (I know, poor me ) and I'd like to hear any advice that may help me stay focused while on my trip. I am bringing my running shoes with the hopes I might use them at least every other day. Any oher good ways to avoid temptation and keep myself motivated? I'd hate to use this trip as some sort of excuse to mess up my progress!
Thanks!

First of all......I'm completely jealous that you are going somewhere WARM! :flowerforyou:
Secondly, Just make some small changes, but don't deprive yourself completely. Order your meal, but instead of fries, have a side salad with low fat dressing. Use your running shoes! Exercise and you'll be able to indulge a lot and not really have much of a gain.
Lastly, HAVE FUN!0 -
Hello! First, is there any room in your luggage for one more?! I could use a vacation and I love the beach! My biggest suggestion is swimming!!!! It burns a great deal of calories and I have even lost weight on vacations to the beach before b/c I spend so much time in the water. I also would pick a handful of go to exercises like crunches, squats, push ups, etc. that can be done fairly easily and quickly when you get up and before you go to bed. Also, remember to stay hydrated with H20 since you will be spending so much time in the sun. Dehydration can even disguise itself as hunger if you aren't drinking enough water! Hope this helps and enjoy the vacation!0

This website http://www.wish.ca/20minute/shape-up/feb-25-08/ has a ton of 20 minute workouts that you can print out and take with you. You can pick and choose from the exercises as some may require some weights and I'm not sure if you will have access to those. However, there are plenty that don't require any equipment. You can print out a 7 day plan and mix and match your exercises. Good Luck!0

Thank you so much! I'm so excited for the trip, but I get nervous at the idea of a completely letting loose! I've come too far for that!

We go to the beach every summer and all I can say is its vacation enjoy it. All I do is have fun and make the healthiest choice off of the menus while I am on vacation. I don't know if you are getting in the water, but 4-5 hours of battling waves and boogie boarding should allow for a little splurge for lunch or dinner, just don't go crazy. YOur little voice in your head will tell you if you are getting crazy, listen!
have fun! :bigsmile:0 -
Have a great time and enjoy.:drinker:
