Really needing some motivation.

During the school year, I did great. I'm 5'7, got down to 146 at one point during the school year, then after 5 weeks of studying abroad, got up to 153-154. I have lost ALL motivation to even keep trying this summer. I want to get down to 130-135 and these last 15-20 pounds have been SUCH a struggle. Is it even worth trying? I know I am not classified as "obese" but I am nowhere near happy with myself. I sleep in until 1-2 PM every day, and have to be at work at 4 so I convince myself there's no time to workout. I want to look good on my birthday on October 4th. But I cannot get my butt in gear. I just find it incredibly unfair that I have friends who look perfect, never workout, and eat whatever I want, but it is such a struggle for me, every day. I don't know what is wrong, its like I have no self control.

"Until you value yourself, you will not value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it." ~M. Scott Peck
STOP listening to yourself, you have time to workout... your mind is stopping you. Weight loss or not, you can be fitter and healthier without losing a pound. You owe it to yourself to take care of YOU!0 -
Try the Nike training club app. It is free. You can do it at home. Just wake up at 12 instead of 1 or 2. You only need dumbells. The program talks you through everything. It is tough! You will be sore but you will see and feel the results. Everything is timed. before you know it you are done. You can add your playlist to it. Try it! Don't worry about your friends not having to eat healthy or exercise because believe me it catches up to almost everyone. Start now making better food choices and challenging your yourself with a tough exercise program. You can still have things you like in moderation-Just watch the next day! Good Luck0

Can I be kind of blunt? I read your post and the first thing I thought was "there is a heart issue involved here.". To me, it sounds like this isn't just about losing weight but what you believe to be true about yourself. It's easy to compare ourselves with other people who appear to have it all together or don't struggle with the same issues. This is a trap!
When I began.a life changing journey several months back, I committed to be what I call a truth-teller. I tell the truth always and in all ways. This includes being honest with myself. I convinced myself that I didn't have time to work out or eat right because I'm a single parent to a disabled child. Who has that kind of time or energy? The truth was that I didn't WANT to make the time. Days turned into months and my weight continued to get higher.
Is your happiness tied soley to what the scale tells you? Is your worth and value directly related to the little number you see on the tag of your jeans? Sweet girl, I don't even know you and I can tell you that your worth is immeasurable! Be a truth teller. Ask yourself what you really do believe to be true about yourself. Do you believe you're good enough or do you feel as thouh you always seem to miss the mark in some way. When we identify the root issues, we can make changes. In the process of asking yourself those questions, get your butt out of bed by noon and get some exercise. Instead of sleeping away your feelings of inadequacy, face them. Talk to some one who will support you through this.
Remember, your life has a purpose. Take that purpose and put some running shoes on it.0
