2 questions about fitness DVDs

Options
1. I understand that I can't do the same thing over and over indefinitely. But if I regularly rotate through my mini-library of 10ish workout DVDs is that enough variety? Or at some point will circuit training become less effective? I think I should be okay, but I'd rather ask a stupid question than be wrong. :) Ive got 4 Jackie Warner DVDs (3 full body circuit, 1 abs) and 7 Jillian Michaels DVDs (6 various full body circuit, 1 abs).

2. I know I shouldn't do all out strength training daily (I'm thinking heavy lifting type workouts), but since programs like 30 Day Shred, etc do lighter weight strength based work daily I'm fine to hit up a circuit DVD or two every day, right?

(I do also run, but I *really* hate gyms.)

Thanks guys.

    1. Probably, as long as you keep challenging yourself. If you started with 3 pound weights and are still there 3 months later, ....

    2. Should be fine. Make sure you do take a rest day or two.

I was rotating thru about 15 DVDs...mostly Cathe Friedrich stuff...but there's a lot to be said about doing exercises in certain orders and changing everything up every so often. I had stopped seeing results, was even starting to look worse for about a year and couldn't understand why. Then I decided to stop trying to do it on my own and surrender to total body conditioning programs like ChaLEAN Extreme and saw better results from that than I ever did with my own cocktail of DVDs. Now I'm doing P90X and not sure what next (I just started P90X this week) but it's shown me these trainers know a lot more than I do! (Till I go to school for personal training hopefully/

I rotate my DVDs also. And I try a 30min of jogging ,elliptical or bike as an add most days. Mostly cause I get bored with the same stuff.
