I've been doing a 1200 calorie diet for about a week and a half now. I'm 5', and currently 155lbs.
I've been dropping the weight well (about 3lbs lost total now), but I have a problem.

Every day, between meals, I get very dizzy, and light headed, and get a horrible headache. It only happens after I haven't eaten for two hours or so, but I'm trying to spread meals out but it doesn't seem to be helping. Even eating every two hours I still feel very dizzy.

I've also been extremely tired. Is this a sign I'm not eating enough calories?
I have an appointment to speak to my Dr. on friday about it as well, but I'd like some thoughts on it before then.

Thank you!

I'm not a doctor but that seems too low. I started my weight loss with a 1600 calorie a day goal. As I have lost weight and needed to tweak things, I've reduced my daily calorie intake to 1400. At 1200 per day, there isn't much room for you to decrease in the future when you'll need to.

It's hard to give advice without seeing your food diary, but I would encourage you to increase your protein intake as well as complex carbs. It could be that you dizziness is related to your blood sugar dropping rapidly or the food you have consumed has long since burned. Also, where is your water intake at? Dehydration can cause those same symptoms.

For quick protein fixes, I reach for almonds, premier protein shakes (I seriously swear by these...avail at Costco), sliced lunch meat, and cheese.

    Hope that helps a little.

The reason I started so low is I was told someone of my height was suppose to be that low.

Mostly what I've been eating is veggies/fruits/chicken and some dairy (low cal tortilla cheese pizza :D).

And I drink about 9-10 'cups' of water a day. I try to work out three times a week, but I fainted on Tuesday from working out (Yoga, which isn't that intense) so I was worried.

I think I'll up it till I see my doctor.
