BAKE-on..? Get it? Baked bacon?

Hi all!
I have been trying to find information on this for a while, and wondered if anyone here knew the answer. I had heard quite a while ago that if you bake bacon on a rack (so it's not sitting in its own grease) it has a lot less calories than if you fry it. (It's also a lot easier, less messy, and comes out perfect every time!!!) I don't really eat a lot of it, but once in a while DH and DS like to have a big "breakfast" for dinner.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks!!

I cook bacon in the oven but I don't think cooking it on a rack really reduces calories anything measurably. Even though in a frying pan it's sitting in its own melted fat, when you lift it out onto paper towels, that melted fat is mostly left behind. It's not like in either method you're drinking the run-off or anything.0

Good point!! Thanks for the info! One of the things I like about this site is that it is not restrictive; there are no "rules." WHile I am trying to make better choices about what I eat, I am trying to make a whole lifestyle change, and as such want to make choices I can reasonably expect myself to maintain. I suppose I could commit to working out an hour and a half a day, and eating only lettuce and turkey, but what do I do when I reach goal weight? I know I won't do that forever!! I like that using this site as a primary tool, I can eat bacon if I want - but logging my food helps me keep control over portions, etc. - baked or not!!0
