... is to not feel fat anymore.
I don't know whether losing weight will get me that, but I don't know any other way.

Is that really so much to ask?

Do you not want to FEEL fat, or do you not want to BE fat? There's a subtle but very real difference. If you are truly fat, and don't want to BE fat, a exercise and diet.

If you are not fat, but don't want to FEEL fat, no amount of weight loss will help you, only a change in mindset.

Lift weights. Strong is the new skinny.

I'm really not sure. Because if I *feel* fat it should be because I *am* fat, and losing weight should solve that, right? But I know that's not true. I'm afraid that I'll never be happy with myself, whatever my weight.

You hit it on the head....can you be happy with yourself regardless of your weight? For most of us, weight issues reflect what we believe to be true about ourselves. I believed that i wasn't good enough, pretty enough or worthy of the love of others. How did I change my inner beliefs? A lot of time and work.

You might sit down and write out a list of things you like about yourself. I know it sounds cheesy but seriously, sometimes what we need is to articulate things and see them for what they really are. Ask people close to you to tell you what they love about you. I started a coin jar a few months ago. Every time I said something negative about myself, I put a quarter in it. It's actually helping a lot. I also picked one thing about myself tat I wanted to work on. I committed to being a truth teller at all costs....that meant being truthful with myself about some uncomfortable issues.

I won't lie and say the journey of self discovery is all rainbows and unicorns. It's hard but worth it. Pinky swear.
