What helped me break my 7 month long plateau!

Okay so since january I had not lost ANYTHING!
I was eating clean, I changed my calories too many times to count. I ate my BMR, I ate TDEE -15%, I ate 1500, I ate 1200, I ate for the "future me." I drink a lake every day. I was exercising 6 days a week. I got full bloods done, my thyroid and my B12 checked.
Since I started going back to school last week, I am at school from 9am-430pm 4 days a week and going straight from school to work and working 6 days a week. I became so exhausted I decided, screw it I'm not going to count calories this week.. counting in the past 7 months has not made a difference anyway. Decided to check my weight after that week, and was so against it cos I thought I was going to gain so much! I actually lost! So, this week I decided not to count either and have lost again! I'm so much less stressed without having to count calories.
For someone which has been out of touch with their body for so long, counting calories is a good idea, but I had been doing it for over a year and became so OCD that I knew the calorie content that went in my food, even down to the carbs/fat/protein. I knew that I could just eat "healthy" and not go overboard. Now I eat healthily and actually listen to my body. I eat pretty much the same foods more or less, but I could not get the weight off and now I can! Maybe it's because of cortisol? Yay for healthy eating and portion control
**This may not work for everyone, this is just my story.

Glad that you were able to get it figured out. Sometimes we are just too stressed and focused on our weightloss. If you can listen to your body, that is a great way to live life...and sustainable. I've always had to track closely, myself, because my brain lies to my body. Good luck with the rest of your journey, and with school and work...sounds hectic!0

Congrats! That's great. Good luck on all the craziness in your life right now, too. I'm also a student and I'm really not looking forward to the long days back at school.0
