strength training

Hey friends,
Just wanted your thoughts on how many days you should strength train? training for the hardcore mud run and i have no upper body strength...Just was wondering how many of you strength train and how many days a week?

    Hey girl. If you are just starting out, you may want to do some basic compound lifts for overall strength (like strong lifts 5X5). That program is free and good stuff. You are lifting 3 days a week with it. I like it because you get in and out and it's full body awesomeness :)

    i found a pretty good program, it's 12 wks long & the plan is the same basic things (i change it up b/t free weights & different machines to keep my body "surprised") & it changes from 8-12 reps the 1st 4 wks, 6-8 the 2nd & 4-6 the last - i do upper body m/th & lower body t/f - cardio on wed & abs on t/th ams...
