side dishes
I struggle to make side dishes. I like veggies and I make them a lot for me, but sometimes I want something different that is still relatively healthy. I usually have quite a few calories left for dinner, so it doesn't have to be extremely healthy and preferably something that my non-dieting 8 year old and husband will eat.

Boy, we struggle with this at our house.......hubby and I eat healthy and the kids look at us like "this is all we're having?" We usually have one vegetable dish for everyone and a side salad, but if I'm making something the kids won't eat (like roasted asparagus), I will make a rice or pasta side dish for the kids (Lipton or Knorr's usually). Love cauliflower "mashed potatoes"! Would love to branch out a little more with healthy side dishes as well, it's hard to make veggies interesting sometimes!0

My husband loves to have a small cup of lentil soup as a side dish. Lentils are a superfood, and very filling, not to mention delicious. Black beans are also really good side dish, with a little salt and pepper. Naan (indian flatbread) is also really good, and so easy to make. You can find recipes for it online.0
