Martial Arts - need better calculations from this site

There's only one generic selection available for "Martial Arts" under the Exercise tab for this site, and 60 minutes is 822 calories.

I'm new here. Is there a way to distinguish different martial arts workouts better?

A kung fu class is very different from kickboxing, especially if you're sparring, and even sparring has many levels. And rolling in jujitsu is different from those.

Comments? Suggestions?

I agree I find it hard to believe thyat burn over 1000 cals doing 45 minutes of TKD> So I just adjust the time down. I count my 1 hr class as 45 minutes.

Sounds like you have it right. I track our 45 minute TKD class as just 20 minutes. The calories seem about what I would expect when I cut it to about half.
  • Looks like a consensus on HRM. Not sure I can wear one doing jujitsu. Any specific HRM product recommendations?
