Confused on Sugars

OK so I am having trouble understanding how to fit sugar into my diet. Everyone says that sugar is a huge contributor to weight gain which makes sense. I have been trying to limit my sugars by completely cutting out sweets and sodas but I eat so much fruit that I am constantly over on my MFP goal for sugar intake. So my question is are all sugars bad for weight loss and if so should I cut back on how much fruit I eat or is there a difference in sugars in fruit and sugars in other processed foods?

Sugar is sugar. Physically, there's no difference. HOWEVER, if the majority of your sugar is coming from fruits and vegetables instead of refined and added sugars, you're doing great, because fruits have a lot of nutrients that your processed foods won't give you. A lot of people have plenty of success doing exactly what you're doing. And a lot of people don't. Keep doing what you're doing, and if you find that you need to make an adjustment, then you can start cutting back on your fruits. But for now, you're making a positive change, so don't stress about it.
Think of this as a process. You're never going to get everything exactly right all the time. But as time goes on, you'll learn more about how your body is healthiest, and you can make changes as needed.0
