Balancing out your calories

Hi All,

I have a quick question for you all. After following the MFP programme for a week my hubby surprised me with a meal out yesterday afternoon. I completely and utterly went over my calories for the day althoug I wasn't overly worried. My question is:-

If you go majorly over your calories for the day do you shrug it off and start again the next day or adhust your calorie intake for the rest of the week to balance it out overall?
