So, I've been using this site (albeit VERY half-arsedly) for a few months now and I've decided it's time to kick it up a notch. So today, I've set my goals up properly, written my little bio and thought seriously about how much I want to lose, and how I want to go about it.

I'll start by telling you a bit about my weight related life. I'm 22, and to be honest, I've given up on my body way before it's time. I've always been pretty big, through school, college and starting at University and it's been the absolute bane of my life. I'd get bullied, or just feel horrid about myself and then eat to try and fill the emptiness, which unsurprisingly, led to me feeling awful and the whole cycle started again. However, at the end of my first year of Uni I decided that it was time to do something about it and that I had two years left before I had to hit the big bad world of work and people having to take me seriously.

In June 2010 (end of first year) I weighed in a mammoth 14st 7lb - which I really couldnt carry off at my height of 5'4". I did NO exercise, would skip lectures cos I couldn't bring myself to face a lecture hall full of people, ate no vegetables. I literally lived on takeaway (to the point that I'd order an extra dish to save for breakfast the next day), roast dinners (with no vegetables) and full fat coke (at least 2 litres a day).

So, at the start of the summer I decided it was time to change things. To be honest with you, I probably didn't start off in the right way - I just ate less. The food was still crap, there was still no exercise but I was taking in less calories than before. It was a start. So the beginning of second year came around and I weighed in at 12st 10lb. Still pretty big but on the right track. The weight didn't drop off through second year because as any student knows, it's very difficult to get out of the communal pizza feasting and various other things, but I did manage to end the year at 11st 4lb. So In the space of the year I'd shed 3st 3lb. I was pretty chuffed with that.

Cue Third year, and the weight went up slightly, I don't know if it was stress or what but I got to Christmas 2011 with a weight of 11st 10lb. I knew that it was still a massive achievement from the 14 and a half I'd previously been. Then I did that thing that could either make or break a diet - I met a boy haha. So over Christmas and into January, I managed to get myself down to 10st 2lb, to be honest, I was more or less starving myself to look good and then when I started to get comfortable, it all started to pile back on.

So here I am today at 11st 7lb, and unhappy with my weight again. But I'm going to do it properly this time. I'm aiming to lose a stone and get fitter and stronger in the process. I've changed so much for the better - I eat vegetables with every meal (except breakfast, that'd be silly), drink around 2ltrs of water a day, have diet coke if i need a fix, and I EXERCISE.

I guess this is me just introducing myself and saying, if anyone has any suggestions or motivation to help me then please feel free :)

Hello everyone, just poppin in to say hi new to the finess pal and still trying to get familuar with things. I have had gastric by pass and lost a lil over 100lb's and with in a year and a half i began to creep back up in weight not drastic but enough to make me join medifast. I did great on that lost 23lb's and i was thinner then i had been in years. However that became pricey and i got bored with the program and didn't feel i had the support i needed or wanted from them so... Once again i am on my own and i am trying Fitnespal. I just acctually started yesterday with tracking my cal, but we shall see.:smooched:
