Green beans-my new pop corn!

Okay, so first off I would like to state that I am fully aware green beans are not pop corn BUT I can give a few reasons how they can compare. I don't watch nearly as much TV as I used to (due to being more active) but I still love doing it once in a while, popping in a good movie and laying on the couch. I also love eating a good snack while watching that good movie. Popcorn isn't exactly the best choice when you're on a diet, granted-there are somewhat low calorie popcorn options or you could just make it yourself on the stove and add very little butter but green beans are my current movie snack choice. I will open up a regular can of green beans from the store and add about 2 tablespoons of light ranch, then crumble up a small portion of croutons and sprinkle it on top. . . The result is a healthy snack that will not leave you feeling guilty afterwards because a can of green beans has approximately 70 calories, the ranch is light and even if its regular ranch it's still in a small enough portion to not do any harm to your calorie counting and the croutons give a nice little crunch also without adding too many calories when done correctly. . . I know this is a bit weird but it really is delicious!! Please note that green beans are super cheap and its a can, not like a handful of crackers, it IS a realistic filling snack.

Or you could have two cups of air-popped popcorn for around 60 calories.0

I sometimes steam some fresh french green beans and eat them as finger food, dipped in some bottled buffalo wing sauce.0

Two cups of popcorn is incredibly unfilling, realistically speaking- a normal person would still be very hungry. But hey, I do love my popcorn, two cups might do it craving wise.0
