Protein Question

This site says my daily intake of protein should be 71g. Last night I ate one chicken breast which I believe was 10 oz +/- which this site says is 74g. Can't believe this is all the protein I need for a day. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Based on you post and MFP saying you only need 71 g of protein that would be correct. However, one chicken breast that is 10 oz+ or - is one big chicken breast. Not that hard to believe though. I routinely eat extra protein, specifically lean meats as there is a great deal of prortein in everday food. Milk, cheese, peanuts, and other items and they do add up rather quickly. Biggest thing is to make sure you are right at your Calorie intake with the exercise calories and eat a balance of your fruits and vegetables with protein.0

This is correct! The average american is more at risk for getting too much protein as opposed to not enough. I know because I am vegan and I still manage to get enough protein.0

I was going to say the same thing! Approximately 3oz of meat equals the size of a deck of cards.0 -

If you are doing any kind out hard work outs/ body building, strength training, weight lifting....then you need extra protien. If you are doing any of the above, then its recommended to take in about 1 gram of protien per lb of body weight. So if you are 150 lbs......you should take in about 130-140 grams of protien. This is only if you are doing any of the activities i mentioned. Ask your Dr.
Also do not take in more then 30 grams of protien per meal....the rest will turn into fat!0
