I have about an inch or so of fat on my lower belly and lower back that I am trying to lose...i was looking into thermogenics to see if this would speed up the process..i already lost all of my unwanted weight..i just started lifting about a week again as I an trying to put on lean muscle and lower my body fat percentage. Would any of you recommend thermogenics?..if so, what kind?..im also on the path to becoming a "clean eater"..if that makes sense..i may sound like an idiot, but I'm sure some of you will understand what I am asking! Lol..sooo any suggestions??

Great post! You definitely do not sound like an idiot.
I have tried a couple different thermogenics with unfortunately little success due to side effects. Because thermogenics increase your basal metabolic rate you can feel a rush of Energy throughout your body that can be almost distracting. You sweat your *kitten* off doing normal thins like walking up stairs and it always made me shakey even when it promised it wouldn't. They can be loaded with caffeine so be careful with that. They can also be dangerous if you don't drink enough water.
I do however see how the product could be successful for some people who can withstand the other effects. You feel as if you're burning more calories, which means you probably are. Just be careful with them. They aren't the healthiest thing to put in your body.0 -
If you've only got an inch to lose and just started lifting a week ago, I don't think you'll need any pharmaceutical help. That inch will disappear in no time.0

I have used oxyelite before to help when i couldnt get anything to move. In conjunction with my normal workouts and healthy eating it worked fine and i have a high tolerance level so it didnt bother me nor did i can horrible side effects. I think if you can handle it just do it for the the minimum time they say you should and you should be fine0

The question you have to ask of thermogenics (and 99% of supplements in general) is "do they work?" The answer for most supplements is "no," (whey/soy protein powders and multi-vitamins are the only things I will cosign, you urinate out most of the other "supplements" before you gain any of their supposed "benefits") however the answer for thermogenics is "yes and no." They speed up your metabolism, yes, but you shake and sweat, and your heart beats so hard that you think it will burst out of your chest, "Alien" style. This isn't even mentioning the damage the pills are doing to your kidneys. So, yes, your metabolism speeds up, causing you to lose weight (if combined with clean eating and a workout regimen). But once you stop taking the pills, your metabolism slows down, LOWER than your original starting rate, which causes you to put the weight back on, usually with additional pounds. My suggestion to you is skip the thermogenics altogether and add 5-10 minutes per cardio session per week (for example, if you do 30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week, bump it up to 35-40 minutes per session, then add an additional 5 minutes per session per week- the following week would be 40-45 minutes per session, the week after that would be 45-50 and so on, until you get to 60 minutes per session. Once you get to 60 minutes per session, add an additional cardio day and go back down to 45 minutes per session, then start the process over again). Strength training will build muscle, and lean muscle will burn calories even while you're not actively exercising... which is essentially what a thermogenic is "supposed" to be doing for you. Hope this helps.0
