How often do you "weigh in"?

I'm new to this dieting thing but can put it off no longer! I've sort of decided to weigh in on the first of each month, but am already getting anxioux to see my progress. I'm afraid if I weigh in each week, I might get discourged to see that I haven't lost any weight. Is it just mind over matter? How do you all approach the scales?

Early on, I weighted myself every morning at the same time (first thing our of bed).

Now I'm more in maintaince mode and heavy weight lifting, I weight myself weekly, it is pointless to weight myself daily becasue the lifting is causing my weight to fluxuate +/- 4 lbs due to water retention post lift.

Honestly, I've done a lot of trial and error to my diet and workout so I try to check my weight a couple of times per week at the same time, dressed in the same clothes (none) for consistency.

Now keep in mind that your weight fluctuates do to sodium, water retention, evacuations, etc so I'm really looking for trends more than anything.

Now that being said, I won't weigh myself if I at in a restaurant the night before.

Every day, so I can see how my habits make my weight fluctuate

I find taking measurements before I get on the scales once a week is the best way. Even if you don't seem to be losing weight, the measurements tell a different story. Best of luck - I've sent you a friend request :flowerforyou:

I weigh myself once or twice a week, but I only record the weight once or twice a month. This is mostly just to make sure I am making some progress and seeing how my weight fluctuates through the week.

Don't get discouraged. I've made it halfway through the year and more than halfway to my year weight loss goal.

I weigh every Saturday morning...I move my scales all over the hardwood floor looking for the "sweet Spot"...I know, I know., I turn around three times an pat my head while rubbing my tummy [kidding about the last two]..anyway I agree with the fluctuation of water weight and like the measurement idea...
So far...I've lost 39 lbs and looking to reach my goal of 195 by christmas.
    Hang in there

Once a week at the same time on sunday morning.

Don't get discourged. Use your results as motivation towards reaching your goal.
