444 net for the day

Daily goal: 1440. (this is also my BMR and I eat back some of my exercise calories, depending on how much I've burnt, obviously)
Intake so far today: 1422.
Exercise today: 978. (lots of walking with my dog, calculated with HRM and then I deduct 1 calorie per min, which is what I burn when just sat doing nothing)
Net: 444.

ARGH! :noway:

So, I woke up later than usual today (11am) because it was a weekend, and then I started my day with a protein shake. Then I've been out the rest of the day doing food shopping and at a friends. I've had 2 coffees, some squash, a falafel and hummus wrap, a cheese+pickle sandwich, and some fruit juices (a Tropicana bottle, and a 200ml carton of pineapple juice. I'm over on sugar (like most days) because of the juices.

The problem is that it is now 19:30 and my net is at 444. I'm not hungry in the slightest. It's hot and I'm drinking a lot :drinker: I last ate at around 5pm. WHAT DO I DOOOO? Even if I eat a whole pizza in an hour or so, then I'm still going to probably be below 1200 net for the day, let alone my BMR of 1440.

Also, may I add that similar will happen tomorrow, but not to such an extreme because I will be at home eating sweet and sour home-made Quorn chicken stir-fry and a three bean enchillada

Just do your best and don't sweat it if you don't make the 1200. Just try harder tomorrow! I have this happen to me pretty often and I don't sweat it. It's like if you go over your calorie intake...you just go "ok, I'll do better tomorrow." I didn't take a look at your diary but it sounds like you are making decent choices so it's ok. Good luck girl!

Not a big deal if it's not the norm for you.

I don't worry about it so much when the exercise is walking. I know I log it but lets face it, is walking really exercise that requires extra calories to fuel it? Adequate calories like your daily total goal but not extra unless you're like 400lbs and it is hard work.

I agree, if it's just once in a while, don't stress over it. I wouldn't do it every day, but if you truly aren't hungry, don't force yourself to eat this time.

Next time I'd suggest having actual food rather than filling up on juice. That might boost your cals a bit. Have water instead and have some more calorie dense foods.

Well my exercise varies from day to day. During the week I go on my elliptical and use my 10kg kettlebell (my friend has my dog when I'm at work and walks him for me), then at the weekends I walk or do walk/jog intervals with my dog. But whatever burns calories counts, my HR got up to 190 at one point when I ran.

So on the weekends when my exercise calories are high, I'm usually a lot below my calories and have a low net. I usually use that to be able to eat more, but today I was rushing around. Maybe I'm worrying too much - the weekends are only 2 days a week I guess...
