you need a hobby (other than MFP). I like to do crafts, paint, cook. I usually find something to do. If your lonely then join a club or gym to see people.

    ^ Agreed.

Keep your hands & mind busy with a hobby. I find when I'm just laying around I eat because I'm bored. But if I am focused on a task than I'm too busy to think about food.

And...If you get up to head to the fridge reroute yourself out the door for a nice walk

I try to get out of the house.....go for a walk, pull weeds in the garden, brush the dog.

Clean the house, go out for a walk, go to the mall and walk around, call someone, create a project for my house. It will pass, but if you do end up eating grab carrots and water, and fill up on healthy :)

go for a walk outside (if it's a safe hour). if you go around the same times you might see the same people and will end up meeting people .

read a book or do something else to keep busy

I agree with the others. Walk, read or any other hobby helps when the snack-mode hits. Eventually, you will train yourself to resist and it will get easier to avoid raiding the fridge. It takes some time, but you can do it.

I have associated reading/movie watching with snacking to the point where it's been almost impossible for me not to do one without the other. But over the last few weeks I have been working to make myself aware of when that mood was creeping up on me and I've stopped myself from diving headfirst into ice cream.

I know it sounds cliche, but drinking water helps. If you hate plain water as much as I do, look for a flavor additive without calories or sugar like Mio. It makes you feel like you've given yourself a treat and satisfies the urge - but it's healthier and fills you up.

Good luck and feel free to friend me. I look foward to helping others keep on the path to their goals!
