Feeling guilty?

:ohwell: So for the last 4 days I have busted my bum working out and jogging everynight. Eating right and getting all my water in. I weighed today and have lost 1 lbs.
Which I'm happy about, but today I'm sore. Well, to get onto what I'm feeling guilty is I was going to skip working out today, however I am going to do my normal 2 mile jog tonight. I just keep sitting here like " I'm not going to get anywhere If I dont workout today" and I'm making myself feel like CRAP!
I geuss I'm just looking for advice, is it okay to skip my workout today, if I continue to do my jog tonight? I am just so sore that I dont think I can do both today.
Workout however will begin again tomorrow.
Is it okay to take a break?

It's calories in vs calories out. If you skip a workout, and stick to your calories, your deficit at the end of the day is the same. There is such a thing as too much exercise, ya know?0

you most definately should take a day off, your muscles needs time to repair after a workout," for that is what exercise does to muscles, tears them down" It is best to take at least every third day off, or work out a different muscle group. if you workout running one day, then do upper body the next, and so on.. mix it up and allow time to repair, especially when you feel pain.0

Thank you so much for the reply! I'm new to this. I think I always push myself so hard becuase I feel guilty if I don't. Maybe, I need to get over that. Oh kay, so I'm taking the day off! And I'm going to use your advice every third day off. THANK YOU! :flowerforyou: :smooched:0 -
No problem,.. but do remember to stay within your alotted MFP calories on your day off.... Just like BrendaLee said. cal's in VS. cal's out. that's the ticket.0

Thanks.Taking a rest day is good for your body. It gives it time to heal and rebuild. Here's a good article about overtraining:

I workout 6 days a week 1 1/2 hrs a day. But if there is a day that my body is tired or too sore. I take a day off. I just have to make sure I stay under my calories for that day. I also like the idea of working out a different muscle group every other day. If I run or bike one day, then I will swim or lift weights the next.
Keep going, you can do it.0
