I'm trying to avoid eating too much sugar - really trying to stick to the number that MFP gives me. Today I ran 10 miles and i'm finding it hard to get enough carbs but also limiting my sugar. I made Quinoa with cinnamon and peanut butter today which was AWESOME, but now I'm out of quinoa. Next week I work out at a camp and will have to eat the food there, so I have no idea what it's going to be like. Does anyone have any tips for limiting sugar?

I am sugar free as well, and I avoid anything processed, as a lot of it has sugar snuck into it. I do not eat regular peanut butter....get natural peanut butter, as it has no sugar in it. I do use a lot of artificial sweeteners. Eat lots of fruits if you want a treat....that's good sugar.

    :) Good luck!

Carbs and sugars are good and bad, depending lol. I know that you need the carbs to give you energy to do the things you need to. Honestly, try healthier, easier to burn sugars, like those found in fruits. It's nearly impossible to completely cut out all carbs and sugar in your diet, because most things turn into energy, which you burn off when you work out, or throughout the day. Avoid things like, high fructos corn syrup, and other sort of things you know are bad for you. But I'd say, stick with mother nature's carbs and not processed ones, and you should be ok. I'm still learning myself, I think I'm at a carb deficiency, I'm CONSTANTLY tired. ^^ I am no pro, just offering some friendly advice.. =3 hope you find the answers you're looking for.

Just measure carbs. Sugar is a carb. Attempt to get sugars from comples sources like fruit and veggies but it is not something that really needs to be measured if you are focused on your overall carb targets.

unless you are diabetic, no reason to even track or worry about sugar. especially if you are running 10 miles. your muscles are gonna be using that for energy through your run.

just track carbs -- which get broken down into sugars anyway.

I'm taking a challenge for a few days via a bootcamp I do twice a week. It's day one and I'm already having a hard time lol although I only need 164 more carbs for the day instead of somewhere over 200. I made a nice bowl of quinoa with natural peanut butter and cinnamon (NOT cinnamon sugar). I highly recommend! It was very tasty but now I'm out of quinoa...
