    It's common.

    Ha! Yes!

I do this before biking as my thighs tend to rub on the seat a bit (I need longer fitting cycling shorts!) and when I am wearing a dress or skirt. I have massive thunder thighs and I need the deodorant to help with friction lol!

Academy Sports sells 'body glide' for bikers. Works great for walkers, too. And ladies that wear dresses. :flowerforyou:

Sometimes i use that trick if I'm wearing a skirt in warm weather. The day my thighs don't touch, i'm going to jump up and down so hard it's going to register on the richter scale.

You don't actually have to get to the point where your thighs don't touch. Mine touch and always will, but they don't chafe.

I avoid dresses in the summer because my thighs rub together, and it's uncomfortable (even painful). THANK YOU for posting this. I am totally doing this next time I wear a dress. I have a lot of really cute summer dresses...and now I shall bust them OUT! :drinker:

Yup! Works great. I heard that Secret is the only brand that works. So, I have stuck with Secret. Do other brands work, too?

I've never done my thighs but I put it on my feet to prevent them from sweating.

Something else that works in a pinch is a dab of chapstick.

Tried it all.. baby powder, vasoline, deoderant.. chaffing cream. For me the best thing was a pair of tight fitting boxer briefs by underarmour. Similarly I have a pair of biker shorts that work as well. Even with the briefs/shorts on I still had issues at first, just seemed to be more bearable. I've been running for a while now though and that pesky thigh fat finally lost the battle. I can now run comfortably without the fear that I'm going to start a fire with all the friction. Now.. if I could only get my testicles to cooperate...

I've used baby powder sometimes, or just pulled on some light cotton bike shorts under my skirt, if I know it's gonna be a long walk/hike. never tried deodorant, though. Makes sense, though.

I use i can't believe it's not butter spray. j/k i just pull up my shorts/pants so my clothes rub, not my skin.

LOL, I thought you were serious for a sec and cracked up laughing! Man, could you imagine jogging with that? You'd run down the street and the people that you passed up would think "Hey, is someone cooking popcorn?"

Yep. I do it all the time.
Hoping that soon I won't have to anymore.

Mine used to actually bleed. I tried all of the above suggestions but the best by far for under dresses was the short style spanx which also held everything else in.

Thankfully, although I don't think I will ever have a thigh gap, they no longer rub and I can wear anything I like with regular underwear, or even no underwear LOL

I hadn't heard the deodorant thing before but I'll have to try it. I've actually stopped wearing dresses in the summer because of my chub rub...
  • LOL, a problem I've known all too well. My trick, wear no *ahem* undergarments when you run... makes a world of difference.

I think it's weird - that's what BodyGlide is for. But it does come in a deodorant type stick!

My husband gets it all the time working outside at his job, for the rawness and kind of baby diaper rash cream works to heal it overnight, a&d is good and so is butt paste.

We are looking to find the body glide chafing stick (looks like deodorant) And just seen a commercial that gold bond just came out with one as well. I've also heard people using vaseline during marathons and cycling.
  • I can't believe didn't think of that! lol I have been wearing skirts throughout the summer but my thighs rub together and leave a rash, definitely gonna look into this trick. I heard others mentioning 'Body Glide' also, gonna give it a try.

    Not weird at all
