3 suggestions
1. keep a water bottle with you all the time, you will actually be able to see how much you drink, and u will find yourself reaching for it without thinking about it and drink more.
2. take a multi-vitamin, people don't realize it, but when you get all of your vitamins and minerals at good levels, your body is able to function more efficiently.
3. eat Activia Yogurt every day to help with your "regularity"
p.s. do u exercise at all?? i see none logged?? you should at least be walking or something 30 min a day.....0 -
I do drink water, just havent logged it on MFP, i drink about 1 litre a day.
My weigh in is always the same...i weigh in every week on a sunday morning as soon as i get up.
not enough water,imop
just looked at your diet,to much sugar and fat, imop,I quit milk, skim in fact,to many cal, trade it for cauliflower,imop.0 -
I was getting ver focused with my MFP plan - was recording every calorie - keeping my daily cal to 1500 and I had joined a boot camp BUT then I gained two pounds in a week!! But the week later I finally lost a few. Perhaps I was finally gaining a little more muscle which should rev up my metabolism eventually.
Maybe your body was also building up muscle???
Hopefully Next weighin will bring you good results!!!0 -
You know, I just viewed your food diary. You do need to eat MORE, GF. I was in the same boat at one time. I was eating too little and gaining weight because my body was going into starvation mode. I had been diagnosed as pre-diabetic and sent to some dietary classes. After the dietitian viewed my food log she said I was eating good food, the right kinds of food, but not eating enough calories throughout the day.
She advised me to start eating more and then I would start losing weight. Quite frankly, I thought she was nuts. However, I did take her advice and she was right!! I starting losing weight when I upped my calorie intake. Sounds crazy but it is so true. You need to start eating more. Good Luck! Don't give up!0 -

i don't want to put down your advice, or your new work out (go boot camp classes!!), but it is not possible to gain two pounds of muscle in a week, especially on a calorie deficit.
you gained weight because of water retention. when you exercise, especially strength training, your body retains water to help repair the muscles.
as people start to lose weight, and change their exercise habits, they must also continue to adjust and change their food intake. usually, people have to bring UP the calories.
and never neglect rest. rest is just as important as exercise. if you have problems with a total rest day, try having an active rest day by doing yoga, or a light warm up and then stretch.0 -
THanks captain!
I'll admit I was very bewildered by the weight gain but talking to others assumed it could be muscle. Because of an injury I hadn't been weight lifting for a year and had just started again.
The water retention could make sense . It was very hot here and I was drinking a lot of water ...

Thank you for your kind comment about the woman who on one of these posts called me stupid, something im most definitely not.
There was no need for it, and i dont hink anyone should speak to another person on here like that.
I can take constuctive criticsm but not insults.
To everyone else a MASSIVE thank you for your advice and time xx0 -
Out of order, no need for it.
Dont call people names and grow up.0 -
All advice taken on board
Ive now went into settings and changed my diary so that Sodium is now on there and i can monitor it.
SO ... This weel i will watch sodium levels, drink more water and try my best to eat my total 1300 calories MFP says i should be eating.
To everyone who has asked about exercise...sadly its not an option for me at this time due to severe ill health, in and out of hospital a lot, ive recently also had surgery and im quite immobile, also have a blood clot in my leg. So has to be all diet for me, but im a fighter and i will keep going.0 -

Speak with your doctor about the exercise .. any little bit would help. I am sure that he/she would have a suggestion of some little activity you could get in. All exercise is not out of the question (surely) My suggestion, speak with your doctor about this if you haven't already and see what their advice may be. There are different types of ways to get your heart rate up and get your exercise in. Good luck
Well now I see you say you recently had surgery -dont know how long ago that was, but just know that never use medical issues as an excuse because there are different ways to get in exercise. (just seek medical advice first) And I am not being judgmental just want to let you know exercise comes in all forms if nothing but sitting there and using a hand bike and turning it0 -

Feeling better than i was at 9am today0 -
SODIUM LEVEL - now that ive changed my diary to include sodium, ive checked back over all my end of day results and not once i have i even reached my sodium level, let alone go over it, so think that rules that one out, thankfully.
Just need to try and reach my 1300 calories a day, everyday, and drink more water.0 -
It's never going to be a perfect exact loss week after week. If you look at a chart of someone's long term weight loss, there are up weeks and down weeks, but the overall trend is down. Don't lose sight of the big picture.0

I saw that myself but look at those WW meals because I saw where it was logging those in as "1" for sodium .. I am wondering how accurate that is. One WW meal it logged it as 400. Usually prepackaged meals are high. That is what made me think your sodium level was high because of the prepackaged foods you was eating.0 -
Try to get 60g of protein per day as a minimum. Don't hold the fats too low - try to eat some oily fish 2-3 times per week etc as there are fats your body can't make and fat soluble vitamins you need.
Our bodies don't tightly regulate water so fluctuations of a pound or two are perfectly normal. Your litre a day is probably adequate.
How tall are you ?
I get that you can't run around a lot, but can you do some upper body type exercises even if sat still or lying down. Even picking up a heavy book or similar multiple times.0 -

I understand that your saying im not eating enough, i was already told this a few weeks ago when i was eating just 800 calories a day, not for the reason to lose massive amount of weight fast, just that it was enough for me, so ive went up and im now eating approx 1100/1200, struggling to reach this every day.
Your macros are good OP, you are eating at a deficit therefore:
What sort of exercise do you do? (this is my follow-up question lol) :flowerforyou:0 -
Speaking from experience: After a "big" loss week, it is very common to maintain or even fluctuate up a pound the following week. What matters most is the AVERAGE. You will have weeks you lose big, you will have weeks you don't lose at all. Our bodies aren't following a perfect pattern here, but if you track your long-term losses, you'll see a nice average.0
