Does it work? Is it better than spreading out your calories throughout the whole day? Personal experience?

End of day calorie and macronutrient totals will primarily dictate change in bodyweight. If you want to fast for preferential reasons, knock yourself out.
I choose to fast during the daytime and stuff my food-hole at night because I like eating massive dinners and I'm not much of a breakfast person.0 -
I naturally eat between noon and 8pm personally. I simply am not hungry till noon, and dinner time for me is 7pm. After that, I don't eat unless I am going to snack on some popcorn or notice I am under my nutritional needs.
If eating TOO much is a problem for you (turns out, wasn't my weight loss problem), then fasting after a set time may work. What it does is limits your calories. Many times if we snack late night we SAY "Oh, just a bite..." but what we do is "OM NOM NOM..." and eat the whole thing lol.
You should try the intermittent fasting thing (fast for 16 hours, eat in an 8 hour window). Half the "fasting" period is spent sleeping anyway, so it isn't hard to follow.0 -
I find I do better if I don't eat after 5 or even earlier. I work 12 hour shifts so I am usually pretty hungry when I get home at seven. I actually feel better also If I quit earlier probably because I sleep better.0
