Short Term Goals?

When I reach my first 10 lb marker and keep it off for a week, I plan to finally institute a champagne Thursday.
I'm about a quarter of the way there and just curious if or what anyone else plans to do when they reach a short term goal like that.
Or even just fun ideas, since I'm hoping the plan for my 20 lb marker isn't too far away.

Excellent idea.
I literally have a list on amazon that I will treat myself to when I achieve my goals. They are not always expensive, but they are not food related. Like a lotion that I would have never treated myself to because it was more expensive than 5 bucks. Or a mani pedi. I just treated myself to a massage! I do not use food or drink as reward because I do not want to think of them as "rewards"- just as enjoyable things we do to live, but that is just me.
Either way, I believe strongly in doing something special for yourself when you reach short term goals. I also believe in changing those rewards up to keep things motivating.0 -
I agree that its generally counter intuitive to use consumables as a reward - but in this case it will be following in line with the whole idea of changing my "lifestyle" as opposed to a one time treat.0

Oh. I don't think champagne is a bad thing at all!! I am so sorry if it sounded like I implied that.
I mean it is under 100 calories. It is posh. It is very feel good. I thought it was a great idea and started my post that way.
I just don't like the taste of any alcohol so when I was thinking beverage, I was thinking decadent- like one of those loaded chocolate chip frappes that is so decadent and so not something I should make a regular part of my life.0 -
Ha ha! I didn't think you meant it that way but it did make me realize that I hadn't written that part!
And I know what you mean about the really indulgent stuff. truth is, I don't cut it out completely - but I don't use it as a reward either. Personally, food is my vice, so generally I try to avoid associating it with emotions. Lol.0 -
I have replaced all decadent food/beverage items with decadent items in general. Body care products. Luxe shampoos, bath oils etc. I bought myself a pair of heavenly slippers. I think food/beverage is about sensory gratification for me and I sub it with other. Of course, my family wonders why I bathe all the time...but...they'll just have to cope.
What is your champagne thursday all about? What do you plan to do for it?0 -
I have mostly done the same thing! The champagne Thursday is something I've seen in a few movies and I just like it! Its not very bad, calorically speaking, and since I live with my parents right now I definitely wouldn't be enjoying it alone! Lol.
I know what you mean about bathing all the time too. ha ha.0
