I’m 31, 5”11 and weigh 20st11lbs.
I’ve put the weight on gradually since I entered my teens, but in the last 2-3 years I’ve gained about 5stone.
I have all the excuses; shift work, too tired to cook, can’t lose weight etc but they don’t really mean anything.
I've realised that my weight it holding me back, its already stopped me living my life to the full and i don't want to ruin the rest of my life.
I’ve thought long and hard about what diet I what to do and pretty much discounted everything. I know if I ban food on meal replacements diets of go very low calorie I will not succeed. I'm not wonderful at Calorie Counting and initiatially discounted it plumping just to go healthy.
Someone on another forum suggested this site to me; and the really fantastic app and i signed up yesterday and i really like how easy it is to use.
Haven't really got anyone to talk to about my weight battle so would love some friends in similar situation to me.
Thanks
A xx

Hiya
Welcome to MFP, i find its a great tool to assist you in your weight loss goals. My advice would be not to treat this as a diet but to think of it as more a lifestyle change for the better. A diet is impossible to keep up long term and denying yourself the things you love is no way either, just makes me more prone to falling off the wagon!!! Lol :-) Its just a case of getting the balance right, which may take a little time but if you get the balance right then your much more likely to stay with it and reach a point where you are happier and content with yourself. I'm sorry I'm probably spouting thing you already know and don't wish to be patronising or anything so forgive me. MFP enables me personally to balance food and exercise and makes me more aware of what I'm putting in my mouth as i have to own up to it so to speak and the worst person to have to own up to i find is myself!!! Its enabled me to identify and stop making wrong decisions and control my portion sizes as I'm the worlds worst offender for piling my plate full as i love food sooooo much!
Anyway if you would like to chat and add me as a friend, please feel free :-)0 -
