Adjusting your goal weight

Hello all,

I'm wondering how many people have adjusted their goal weight after they started losing weight? Personally I initially set a target when I first started on this journey but I've found that I'm a lot smaller than I thought I'd be at a higher weight (down from a size 10 to a size 2-4 depending on the cut of what i'm wearing). I'm getting to point where I feel good about the current size I am and worry if I go lower just to say I'm a lower weight it won't look as good on me.

Has anyone else found that their initial idea of what their goal weight should be was actually too low?

Thanks in advance!

I have adjusted it due to body composition. Basically I just had an idealized number in my head and started with that. After doing lots of reading on here, decided to switch to looking at my body fat % instead. So, after doing calculations, I found I'd have to lose ALL my body fat AND some muscle to make it to that idealized weight.

So, I adjusted to be more realistic with my goals.

I lost weight with diet and working out with a trainer and I found that I've gained quite a bit of muscle mass. I think I may have to loss muscle mass if I drop to my initial goal weight and I'd rather not do that. I am also in my 30's and I really don't want to be a size 0. I was a zero back when I was in my 20's and I think that at this point in my life I want to look healthy not just skinny.
