Has anyone tried the diet in the new book from Prevention called "The Flat Belly Diet"?

no but here is a great review of it by WebMD. http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/flat-belly-diet

I have no problem with the diet, it seems reasonable. But I doubt that it does all that it claims. Or more accurately, I should say that I think the diet implies that you lose the weight for a specific special reason (like the emphasis on mono unsaturated fats as every meal, which is a good idea no matter what plan you follow), where, in fact, you're probably losing it because you're eating healthy.

The diet is a good one IMHO, and I see no reason not to follow it. Although I don't think you specifically NEED to follow it, just eating a healthy balanced diet, following the food pyramid, and keeping a reasonable caloric deficit and adding a good helping of exercise will do the same thing.

Some people need a plan, and of all the "diets" out there, I think this one is one of the better ones.
