I dropped my nearly 3 year old off with my mom this afternoon for a couple days. She's been testing a lot of boundaries lately and I needed a serious break. My husband I and celebrated our freedom as we're accustomed to: A bike ride down to the pub for a beer and game of Carcassone. I only had one beer, which is an improvement for me. Yay! Then we biked to another pub for another beer and some food. Again, only one beer. Cheers for me! Although I didn't drink or eat as much as I would have a couple months ago I feel pretty crappy. I'm super bloated, completely unmotivated to remove myself from the sofa and a little bummed out.

The lesson I learned: I don't need to go out for a beer to have a good time! I kind of fell into an old habit and should have made a decision more in line with my current lifestyle. I'd feel so much better if we'd just gone for a bike rise and skipped the beer altogether. I guess I'm living and learning here and here's hoping I do better next time.
