Any Students?

Hello fellows in heath-bettering (:
I am a Sophomore in high school, and I was wondering if anyone else was too, or at least a student in college. During the Summer, it's easier to track my caloric input-output, but it's a real onerous task when keeping up with a schedule. If you do happen to be a student, it'd be cool if we could discuss ideas.
and if you're not, please add me anyway (:
g'day!

I lost about 150 lbs during my last two years of high school. I think I did better during the school year than the summer, really. I wasn't doing too much tracking, other than in my head, but I didn't really need to. I would eat breakfast every day and not bring anything for lunch, so I didn't eat at all at school. Then I came home and had a snack before dinner. I also took a gym class every semester. Being able to work out during the day helped a lot.
I don't think that the way I lost weight is something that MFP would approve of, generally speaking, and even I might do things differently in hindsight... but hey, it worked pretty well.0 -
I was in grad school until this summer, and in September I will start a full time internship. I think a schedule does help me stay on track, as I graze less when I have things to do during the day. A few tips for success as things get busy with school starting back-
Download the app, and put your food in before you eat it. Put in your breakfast in the morning (before or after you eat it) and then put in your lunch when you pack it. I do suggest packing your lunch. Unless your cafeteria beats the pants off mine in high school (and college) your chances of getting out of there with something nutritious, filling, and not dripping in grease or butter is slim.
Schedule your exercise. If you are a runner, go ahead and plan for your runs for the week in your agenda/planner. If you will have gym class, try to figure out your calories and when you might need to pad the class with other exercise. Make exercise a priority and plan for it, it will be tough, and it will be in competition with homework and parties and such. You can usually get it all done if you are willing to get up early enough in the morning or put enough planning in.
Check your app before dinner, if you still live with your parents, you will likely need their help in guestimating what the calories and macros of dinner might be. Go ahead and log that in there. (Logging it is better than just guessing in your head, especially when you start out.)
Hope that helps.0 -

I used these for ideas for the kids to fix the not so ordinary lunches for my kids and myself everyday --- i recommend taking your lunch everyday and with some of these great ideas - they are filled with protein, veggies, fruit and even have a small dessert for those days where you just need a dessert (high school is hard and sometimes you just need an oreo!)0
