Bummed :( Sugar intake

Bummed! Seems as though my food choices have a lot of sugar intake? But I've made wiser decisions, choosing fruit instead of junk food? NOT happy :-(

I am following a gestational diabetes diet of 1800 calories. I don't always chose the best foods, but from where I've been to where I am now - I thought I was doing great... I recently added the "sugar and sodium" feature to my calorie intake form and I can't believe the amount of sugar some "healthy" foods have! I need help!

I think this topic is better suited to a diet-and-nutrition forum, or general weight loss help, as it seems to pertain to your actual eating habits, rather than website nuts and bolts.

That said, if you are eating a special diet for diabetes, I'd highly recommend talking to your doctor first before opening up for tips from the Internet crowd. S/he would be equipped to help guide you to the right choices for your health.
  • Thanks - I realized that after I posted in this topic, LOL... I did re-post... I also am awaiting a reply from my gestational counselors... Just thought some other feedback may help as well... I appreciate it

If you are pregnant and concerned, this convo should definitely happen with your doctor. Sugar from fruit is still sugar.
