Nutrition Guide Info???

Hello,

I am hoping someone out there can clarify the information on restaurant nutrition guides. For example, tonight I had chicken soft tacos from On the Border. When I went to update my food journal, all of the entries in MFP list the nutrition information as “1 taco” (250 cals). However, when I reference the restaurants nutrition guide, it list the serving as “as served”, which was 2 tacos. Maybe I am grasping at straws to save some calories, but when I piece it out: two fajita size tortillas are 200 cals, and I can’t imagine shredded chicken with salsa type sauce and lettuce is an additional 300 calories (500 cals for 2 tacos). So what do you think: 1 taco = 250 OR 2 tacos = 250 cals??? Many thanks!!!

PS. I am a newer MFP member and really enjoy reading the forums, you all Rock!!! :glasses:

Well today I had a similar experience... I went to dos coyotes and I was planning on getting chicken tacos which is just cheese, chicken, and lettuce I think, can't remember but it didn't have much in it...well they had a "light" menu and 2 tacos was 625 CALORIES!!! I was like OMG... and they are like little tiny saucers... so I'd say its for one taco unfortunately. :grumble:

I went and looked at the data base. There are actually multiple entries for this item, and at least one of them matches the restaurant sites info and the other is the one you found. According to the database, the one you described, and others, were member submitted.

I would choose the one that matches the restaurant website info and call it good. If you search "on the border soft" you will bring up multiple entries for the same item, unfortunately, not an unusual occurence around here.

    Hope this helps:flowerforyou:
