Hi everyone.

Hello all,
Just thought I would introduce myself as this is what the thread says. I am 33 years old and currently weigh 176 lbs (12 st 8 lb). The lightest I have been since my late teens is 168 lbs but I did look skinny and ill and wasn't too happy and my heaviest has probably been 210 lbs. I have always battled with this due to the fact I love food and a lot of it, which has been my downfall as I have always stayed relatively fit with football (soccer) and weight lifting in the gym etc so if I took that away I guess I would of been a lot bigger. I spent 3 years in the gym with a buddy of mine but didn't eat correctly so feel it was all for nothing because I now know that you cannot out train a bad diet full stop.
Anyway my goal is to get to about 160 lbs but look healthy and lean and 43 days ago I weighed in at 196 lbs so have lost 20 lbs since then. My diet is based mainly around slimming world but I now use the calorie counter on here as it stops me over eating. I also play 5 a side football for about 90 mins x 2 a week and am following the GSP rush fit programme (George st Pierre) on beginner stage. Pair that with the odd cross country (trail) cycling and it seems to be helping me achieve my goals. The thing that helps me focus the most is having a goal and something to work for or follow. It is always nice to have friends for moral support and motivation too. Lets hope I can achieve my goals as they are now so close. Thanks for reading and hope to hear some other peoples stories

Great work on your weight loss so far. I love food too and MFP is a great way of monitoring how much I'm eating. I also like to have a goal to focus on and I'm currently on week 2 day 2 of the B210K program. It sounds as though you have thought this all through and are determined to reach your goals so I'm sure you will achieve them. Good luck and feel free to add me if you want.

Hi there. Lover of good food here. I have struggled forever but I am finally at a point where I am looking at my extended family and don't want to repeat bad patterns of health. I need to do this. I am fairly new to MFP and love the support and friends and tools on this site to help with the journey. Feel free to add me :)

I think that's why so many of us have ended up here, we all love food and this way we can still have what we love, in moderation. The counting calories really helped me, that and learning portion control. I've met some really great friends here who have really helped motivate and support, that's a really huge plus for this site as well.

My starting weight was a lot more than I would ever have liked and I'm hoping to never go there again! I started at 166 but am now down to 147, so I've been really happy with my progress. I've also gone from walking to the end of the street to around 7 km a day at a pretty quick clip as well, so I'm doubly chuffed with that!

Welcome to the site, you look like you are doing great so far and have all the right reasons for doing this. We are all in this together after all... Cheers!
