Hello All,
I am a 35 year old married mother of 2 and 5 yr old boys. I know.. that right there should be a weight loss program. I have gained 25lbs. in two years and refuse to buy yet another bigger pair of pants. I am disgusted with myself and know that I need to do this for me.. so I feel better physically and emotionally. I could really use help with recipes and meal plans. I would like to try and stick to 1200-1500 calories a day and also start exercising more than twice a week. I am hoping that thru everyones knowledge and support this will be a great start for me. Thanks.

I'm also a mother of two, struggling to get rid of not only the additional 20lbs I still have on from my last pregnancy (I had him in February 2009) but also the additional weight I gained before I got pregnant. I'm 5'4" and have always been between 145-155lbs, right now I'm stuck at about 185ish. My goal weight is 135lbs. We can both do it, I'm sure.
As for meal plans, I'm more about simpler things for myself. I usually just boil or bake a chicken breast for myself and have a fresh veggie or two with it. ((Meanwhile, the rest of my family is eating spaghetti and garlic bread, lol))
A tip for breakfast... Use Egg Beaters. 1/4 cup of of those = 1 large egg. The egg beaters have 30 calories compared to the egg that has 70. It tastes completely the same, only the beaters don't use the yolk. However, they're yellow because of the beta carotene that's added to them! It's a small step, but can knock lots of calories off weekly. Oh and btw.. I saute a piece of mushroom , onion and green pepper first then add the egg beaters.. It's delish!0 -
31 year old mother of 2 here - there must be a lot of us that need to lose the extra pounds! I have found that just keeping track of what I'm eating helps a ton and in 6 weeks I've learned a lot about what kinds of food are good for me. Also it helps a ton for me to view food as fuel for my body and look at this as a permanent change and not a diet. Good luck with your journey!0

I've got a 10 year old girl, 4 and almost 2 year old boys. My wife works nights as a nurse, and yeah you would think it would be enough just chasing the kids. But by sticking out a 1450 diet(keeping track of everything) and exercising more. I started taking taekwondo with my daughter before I see my wife losing and started mfp. If you stick to to tracking and working out it will work. I have weeks that I lose and weeks that I don't. But it does seem that I am gaining energy overtime and am more motivated and able to find the time to exercise more(Too lazy to find it before, or just not willing to scrap some freetime). You can do it.0
