Carb Question

Hello All. This is my first post here. So, thanks in advance for the responses.

I thought that I had a general sense that I have recently been eating healthy but after monitoring a few days of my meals I realize that I am falling short of reaching my daily carb requirements.

I have been excercising ALOT since the beggining of the summer, lost only a few pounds, but I know I lost inches.

I am wondering if an inbalance in diet, such as not enough carbs would hurt my weight loss as opposed to helping.

Thanks again.

No - I'm a 210lb active male (exercise at least once per day - fairly intensely) and average under 100g of carbs/day. MFP has their carb goals set quite high.

I'm 205. I also average under 100g. How much protein do you consume daily? It seems like MFP is a bit on the low side.

Yeah, mfp has carbs set high. You can adjust it in the settings. Do a search to see how, I did it, but can't remember how right now. I keep it under 100g as well. In fact today I have had 21g. And I work out every day.

Many people lose a considerable amount of weights on little to no carbs. I have.

There is absolutely not one thing your body needs from carbs. Nope not even energy because it can get that from fat (dietary) and fat reserves. Carbs have no amino acids and for the most part no redeeming factors other than tasting damn good.

I am just going to chime in for those on the other end of this carb debate... Everyone is going to respond differently, you need to find what works for you... I am 250 lbs. and still in a calorie deficit and I eat between 320-340 grams of carbs a day and I am a type 2 diabetic... I have never ate fewer than 240 grams of carbs a day when I began this journey at 560 lbs. in 2009... My wife on the other hand has wheat allergies and can not eat many grains and whatnot so again find what works best for you... Best of Luck..
