Does any other women see that when it is that time of the month the scale will go up a few pounds. Is that just me? If not why does it happen? Is there anything I can do? Any ideas, tips, or personal stories?

I think it happens to most . your body is hanging onto water and other things causing the weight gain.
it always goes away , right?

Before it did. This is my 1st cycle since I have started losing weight. I hope it comes back off. Thanks!

hormones, ur body is retaining water. drink lots of water, more than 8 cups if u can. it shud come right off tho...
  • I have found that I start retaining water about two weeks into my cycle. It was depressing and discouraging to weigh myself during the remaining weeks. So, now I just weigh myself about four days after I have my period and I haven't been sorry. It's actually exciting! It would be nice to have the immediate satisfaction of seeing changes in my weight sooner, but it encourages me to stick to my plan so I do get the payoff of seeing the weight loss reflected on the scale at least once a month.
  • yep! i gain like 3-4 pounds right after i start. i just make sure eat right since i get soo snacky during that week. drink a lot of water, it'll come off. not right away, but it'll go.

I was literally just about to post this. I never used to believe my period made me bloated or gained weight until this year. maybe it is especially because I am not taking BC but I notice a difference in the size of my belly even. I also box, and when you compete they take off 3 pounds automatically if you have your period.
I'm going to weigh myself this morning anyway but I haven't been very good this week, and I want to make sure I lose this week :)
