Starting a Vegan diet! :D

Hi all,
I'm going vegan because of a few different reasons (not just for activism), and I wanted to get some ideas on how to get my daily protein/iron/vitamin requirements.
I have one-a-day vitamins, but do I need more diet-wise?

    Research!!! I Googled the crap out of vegan nutrition last summer when I went vegan!! I also read The 30 -Day Vegan Challenge (Colleen Patrick-Goudeau) and The Kind Diet (Alicia SIlerstone). I take a pre-natal vitamin, probiotic, and flaxseed oil. MFP will track your iron, calcium, etc. You can get most of your nutrients from veggies, beans, tofu. I use a protein powder for extra protein (I shoot for no less than 70g a day, but 40- 50g seems to be the norm).

    There are some good groups on here that are just for vegan/vegetarians. Click on groups and search,"vegan."
