Brief intro and greetings

Hey folks,
I am 38 years old and suddenly coming to the realization that habits of old are not going to carry me forward in a healthy way. While I do not have much to lose, 12-15 lbs, I do know that they are getting harder and harder to drop. I currently eat a high vegetable low meat diet and for the most part avoid processed foods. I cycle regularly and will try to get in 3-4 medium distance rides (20 miles) and one longish ride (50 or more miles) per week. I have a wonderful wife of 18 years who is also on MFP and a 4 year old ball of energy for a son.
In addition to dropping a few pounds, I would like to work on my core strength for cycling and maybe see if I actually have abdominal muscles... Please feel free to friend me and I hope to add to the communities discussion.
