ugh, ladies I am struggling. Completely forgot to weigh in, again!! already ate breakfast too.
Sorry I've been MIA, I've had a lot of stuff going on in my life and I've been putting my health and my fitness second to all of it, but that needs to change. I've been gaining back the awesome loss i had last fall/winter and I just can't let myself do that.
So, that being said, Cathy I am definitely in for the next challenge! I like Sixers battle the turkey too! This next challenge will take us through Thanksgiving right? (too early for me to figure out dates...haha)

I'm struggling too these past few weeks ... but I haven't given up. I know it will kick back in. I've gotten back into the swing of things with the exercising ... but the eating is a little uncontrolled. I'd like to say that I'm in a plateau ... but it's something I've caused. I'm sure if I payed more attention to my food consumption the weight would start to fall off again. Okay, enough is enough, I'm back too, I'm with you!!!! "Battle Of The Turkey" is a cute name ... but it would be easy for us Canadians ... we had that battle already this year. Our Thanksgiving was October 12th.

I think the C25K program is really paying off. Tomorrow night I do Week 5, Day 3. It is the one I am really nervous about since it is 20 min jog after a 5 min warmup walk. Yikes!!!
If anyone is concerned they can't do it, believe me, if I can, you can. I started the program when I was about 225 lbs and I leave an extremely sendentary lifestyle working at a computer for 8 hours a day and not very active on the weekends either.

amylou...take it from my experience not taking care of yourself only makes things worse at the end. i am working on this still today. i have to make myself become second nature. it just have to do it without thinking about it. it just has to be there. i think that is the hardest thing to accomplish about this whole journey thing.
t....WOW look at you go. i just did wk1 day1 yesterday. i did it before, but, never finished. i will this time. i won't push myself so beyond what i can do.

I maintained last week. But I'm doing better this challenge than last challenge, so I'm happy about that. Count me in for the next challenge!! I already got through one challenge today. I forgot to pack my lunch, so I went out to McDonald's. Normally I get a med size combo (quarter pounder or big mac), but today I got the big kids meal. I don't feel stuffed like I normally do, and it satisfied the taste for the fries and burger.
And now my kids have a new Bakugan toy. 0 -

Hi everyone... I hope all is well. I didn't weigh in today so I'll do it tomorrow morning. I did 5 miles this morning with a girl who walks at a slower pace than me so it took 30 mins longer but I'm glad I motivated her to keep going. Now I'm just relaxing my day away.

weighed in with a pound gain. better than what it was a few days ago. if i can end this at the beginning weight i would be thrilled. yea, i would like to lose, but, maintaining is a hell of allot better than gaining in my book.

I like the 'Heading into Holidays' type title since there are a lot of Canadians on here and we already had our Turkey Day (aka Thanksgiving). Plus there are myfitnesspal members from other countries who don't have Thansgiving so Heading into Holidays opens it up to a wider range of people.

I weighed in I'm 196 and toooooo lazy to post it. LOL, I will in a sec. I did however decide that I am giving myself CREDIT for all the efforts I make towards a new and healthier me!!! Something I learned from the BECK Diet Soln Book. But Lauryn and the others will remember our money jars... well I'm gonna start using mine again. Today I'm loving that I... ME.... MOI... I got up early and did my elliptical for thirty 30 mins. AND for lunch I walked w/ a coworker for 25 mins. I'm PUMPeD and ready to drop some pounds.

Tamm, think us up a great name for the next challenge, something positive like our "Love Yourself" challenge.
That challenge, I THINK, will run from the beginning of December through late January, early February.
And no, I haven't been getting in all my water either. I need to start drinking my water!!!!!
I'm excited to see all the newbies who are gonna join us too! It's nice to have seasoned folks but the newbies will help reinvigorate our group and motivate us a bit more.
Maybe we can even return to our old school roots -- posting our daily menus! Of course, with public diaries, you can always see what someone has eaten. Maybe we post more recipes for others?? But then again, I don't think anyone needs to know how to pull a frozen pizza from the box and put it in the oven, which is my style cooking. :laugh: :laugh:

Magglett – I love that you are so positive. You are an inspiration.
Chipper – sorry to hear about the headache and not feeling well. I hope you are feeling better today. I love the list you posted!
Amylou – I hope things settle down for you. When life throws you an obstacle maybe try framing it this way. “Will this matter in 5 years?” and then think “Will my health matter in 5 years?” More often than we realize the answer to the first question is no or not as much as my health and the answer to the second question is of course yes.
Kel – Nice to see you back and good luck next week. You can do it!! You have done so well so far.
Amypyr – Good for you making a more sound choice. You could always try their fajitas which are lower in fat and calories. The do have a lot of sodium though but it is still less that the fries.
Tamm – Wow you continue to amaze me. You are doing so awesome and all that exercising is very inspiring and it was so nice of you to keep your friend motivated.
Lauryn – Glad to hear your job is going well and you are liking your new work group. Have a great week!

Well I didn't perish after last night's Week 5, Day 3 of the couch to 5K which was a 5 minute brisk warm up walk, 20 minute jog with no breaks and then a 5 minute cool down walk. Although I did 10 minute warm up and cool down instead. I actually made it and am unabashedly proud of myself for doing so. Saturday I start on week 6 and I know I can do this since I have unwavering determination to get this weight off and to get fit.
I hope you all are having a great week and have faith in yourself. Believe in yourself because you are all worth it.

Good morning Sixers!
I'm excited about the new challenge too. I'm also excited because for the first time in about a year, I have a good chance of weighing in below 150! My goal this challenge was 145, but my unofficial goal the past couple of weeks is to be below 150. I feel confident that I can do it this week. I've been doing pretty well on my eating, but not so much on my water. I'm challenging myself to get in at least 6 cups of water today. Lately I've been doing good to drink 3.
