and didn't kill myself! My daughter recently joined a local roller derby team and has been bugging me to go skating with her to practice (skating - not the derby part). I haven't been roller skating for 20 years. But actually enjoyed it and found it to be a good workout for my legs.

Trying to find activities/exercises that don't bore me and I think I'll be adding skating to my list of fun cardio!

My daughter has been begging me to take her roller skating, so about a month ago I took her for 90 minutes. I wore my heart rate monitor to see what i burned. It was over 500 calories if I remember correctly. And gave my thighs an unbelievable workout. Of course, I'm more afraid of falling and breaking something than I was 15-20 years ago. And my experience was that the next day I felt fine. It was the second day after that it hit.

GREAT JOB! I'm sure your daughter is happy and impressed with the support. You're an awesome mom!

Yeah - it's a great exercise! I am scared of what tomorrow will bring, but try to see muscle pain is a good thing; we'll see - may be crying tomorrow!. But I can't tell daughter about pain - I teased her when she first started and told her to "buck up". Darn that Karma - just can't hide from it!
