I didn't realise how much my body had changed

Hi.
I've lost 12 pounds and it wasn't until I compared my before and now photo that I realised how much my body had changed. I knew I had lost weight and fitted into smaller clothes, but didn't actually realise the extent of the loss.
Don't ask me what inspired me to take the before photo in a bikini that I never wore but had in the bottom of my drawer, but I did (with a self timer) and now I am so pleased as I can really see the difference by wearing the same bikini.
So, my suggestion - take before photos, they really do help let you see your achievement!

Me too. I don't know your start weight or end weight, but there's a lot of reasons why you are stuck.
One is that the bigger the clothes size, the more give it has, and the less form fitting to begin with.
Two is that the pounds don't show as immediately on a bigger girl. I tell people it's like peeling an onion. When you peel the first layer, you don't really notice a big difference in the size of the onion. The next layer you take off is a smaller amount, yet the onion starts to look very different. It continues like this (smaller peel, bigger difference) until you get to the core. Her onion was already half peeled to begin with, compared to mine, at 269 pounds, because she started smaller than me. My 12 pound lost was NO WHERE near as awesome as hers.
To the OP, you look awesome, keep it up!0 -
way to go!!! Love the blonde hair on you and I really really love the booties you can barely see on your feet:)0

Thanks! I like it too. It helps me put it in perspective when I see someone with my weight loss or less and they look fabulous and I get jealous! :laugh:0 -
Those bootie slippers are quite fabulous. I do believe they are the same ones I have.
Cannot wait til winter to rock those babies all over the place.0 -
Haha thanks for the compliments everyone, it's this sort of response that keeps us all motivated.
The booties, yes well it's winter here in New Zealand and was a bit cold on my toes to take them off... lol!!!
I love that this site has people on it from all over the world, so inspiring to read others stories... keep it up everyone :happy:0 -
Sorry guys, I slightly misinformed you, the before photo was actually taken when I was about 72kgs and I am now 63. I lost a few kilos a while back then lost the next 6 kilo using My Fitness Pal. I actually find this site and counting calories easier than the new pro points with weightwatchers.0
