Hello,
This is a short accomplishment that I wanted to share for anyone that cares. The past 3 months I have decreased my running miles from 5 to 1 per day. Naturally my body felt like I became unconditioned to long distance. Plus my diet changed. I started back eating what I wanted. This caused me to feel sluggish during my runs also. I have been eating clean for 21 days on my 21 day plan. First 7 days soup. Next 7 days fruit and veggies only. Final 7 days cereal only. I had to stop on day 8 because I lost 11 pounds and fell to far below my weight goal. Today I decided to do a speed run for my warmup. 1 mile as fast as my body would let me. I ran it in 7 minute 24 seconds. I am happy that I can run this fast again. In December I ran the mile in 6 minutes 30 seconds 3 days in a row but I didnt like how my legs felt afterwards so I stopped doing it. They felt like jello. I think I am going to try to get back down to the 6 minutes 30 second miles. My brother is 7 years older than me (36 years old) but he runs his fastest mile in 6 minutes 24 seconds. I want to beat that. I know he is military but thats no excuse for him to be killing my time like that. I can hang with him when we do distance runs but when we do speed runs he always finishes almost a minute faster than me. This is my new goal to beat his fastest mile. Wish me luck.
