"when's the baby coming?"

I don't know about you guys, but this is seriously the worst thing that someone can say to me. At work today, I had a woman come up to me and ask me when the baby was coming. When I told her that I'm not expecting, she looked at me and mumbled something about it being the style of my skirt. That offhand comment officially made me cranky for the rest of the day.

Anyone have any stories or advice on how to deal with this?

It used to happen to me all the time. I found the best reply is give them a huge smile and say "thanks, but I'm just fat" It confused the crap out of them for a second and then they feel like total morons. Try not to let it ruin your dya because people that ask those types of questions have no social ettiquete and are just plain rude.
  • I hear you on this one- I had my son 4 mos ago and can be holding him and still get asked this!!! I usually look at them and say that whether i am expecting or not that it is none of their business and that is a really rude and nosy question to begin with!
