I've been using myfitnesspal for about 7 months now, based on that my calorie intake should be 1270 but last week I checked out myfatsecret and it says there that my calorie intake should be 2000 really?!?? that's like very far away from 1270?? I exercise 7 days a week for about 60 minutes but as of last week, my weight is just up and down. am i doing something wrong here?? help me please!! thanks :)

MFP hasn't included your exercise in your daily allowance, whereas the other site probably does.

If you are exercising for an hour a day you could easily be burning 600 cals - so add that to MFP's recommended 1270 and you are only seeing a 30 calorie difference.

Two different systems, same outcome... where is the issue?

I had the same confusion coming from fatsecret to MFP. Fatsecret's calculations include an estimate of exercise calories based on your activity level; MFP expects you to add your exercise calories and eat them as you go. If I remember correctly. It's two ways of looking at the same thing.
  • the issue is i don't get it....i'm just confused with all those numbers..

I think you are confusing yourself by comparing two different systems.

MFP's recommendation for you to eat each day:
Base calorie allowance plus exercise calories
    1270 + 600 (estimated) = 1970 calories

Other site which has already included exercise calories:
    2000 calories.

Don't overthink it, just pick one system and try it out. If you are logging food and exercise as accurately as you can and haven't lost any weight after a month, then you can change things around.
  • I might just be over thinking since it seems like I'm having a hard time losing weight and I'm frustrated. I'll stick to MFP for now. Thanks for your help :)

If you seek greater understanding, I recommend reading this post. It's pretty dense reading with some calculations, so I suggest that you read it over and over until you understand it.
