Question about Logging

I was sure up until now that I was doing this correctly, but I'm not even sure if there is a correct way to do this.
I'm referring to finishing a log for the day.
Do you finish your log at the point where you stop eating for the day or do you finish it at midnight and whatever you eat after, carries over into the log for the next day.
I understand if this question makes no sense, but it's kind of important.

Finish when you stop eating for the day, if you change your mind log what you eat and refinish
It works.0 -
It doesn't matter - as long as you are logging the food, it really makes no difference if you write it in your diary for today or tomorrow.
Of course, it will change how your calories look for the day, but your body doesn't work on a 24 hours clock, it doesn't deal with food differently if you eat it (or log it) at 11:55pm or 1:00 am.
Pick a system that works for you and be consistent with it.0 -
I would say it would depend on your day. If you work 2nd or 3rd shift and eat un-tradition times like 'breakfast' at 2pm or 'dinner' at 10pm I'd say log when you finish eating for the day. If you eat dinner at a more traditional time, like 6pm and just happen to wake up hungry at 12:30 am, add that 'midnight' snack to the next day's food.
I personally log my day before I go to bed....no matter what the time is.0 -
I work from 6p-2a. So I don't change days at midnight...0

I would say whatever you eat BEFORE you sleep, write down for the day. Whatever you eat AFTER you wake up, use for the next day. When you sleep at night, your body consumes all that you ate the night before, hence, you usually wake up hungry (and in some cases, BECAUSE you are hungry).0

I would put in whatever I eat for the day before I go to bed. Of course I really can't remember the last time I ate after midnight - but if it was after midnight but before I went to bed I would put it on the same day.0

As long as you log it on one day or the other it really doesn't matter.0
